Warehousing & Distribution — Job Titles

OVERVIEW: Monitors the distribution of incoming parts for quality, storage, labeling, etc.  Prepares and maintains records of raw materials inventory for all products.  Investigates discrepancies in inventory records to determine corrections needed. 

OVERVIEW: Ensures that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible, thus enabling order processing employees to perform their required tasks efficiently and effectively.  Maintains computerized records of inventory and follows proper ordering procedures to maintain "just-in-time" inventory levels as established. 

OVERVIEW: Responsible for managing, controlling, and monitoring inventory at company's production site.  Manages and trains staff of inventory stockpeople and counters engaged in checking, counting, and replacing stock. 

OVERVIEW: Pulls orders accurately in preparation for prompt shipment and verifies and enters receipt of incoming shipments.  Responsible for counting, storing, replenishing, and rotating stock in the warehouse or stockroom on a daily basis. 

OVERVIEW: Under the direction of the warehouse manager, performs various activities, such as requisitioning, receiving, storing, stocking, and distributing a wide variety of company materials and supplies.  Ensures the enforcement of all warehouse procedures and practices.  Supervises warehouse employees who perform primarily manual labor, and is sometimes required to pitch in. 

OVERVIEW: Plans, directs, and administers all aspects of the company warehouse, including requisitioning, receiving, storing, stocking, and distributing a wide variety of materials and supplies.  Oversees the enforcement of all warehouse procedures and practices.  Reports on activities to Vice President of Traffic and Production.  Interacts with department managers and warehouse employees.
