Dispatcher
OVERVIEW: Schedules and dispatches workers, crews, equipment, and vehicles. Handles dispersal of materials, freight, or passengers. Sends out services/materials for normal installation or emergency repairs rendered outside the place of business. Duties may include using a radio, telephone, or computer to transmit assignments. Compiles statistics and reports on work progress.
Logistics Analyst
OVERVIEW: Analyzes and coordinates the logistical functions of the company. Responsible for product delivery and final disposal of resources.
Materials Handling Engineer
OVERVIEW: Main responsibilities are to develop systems, methods, and recommended equipment acquisition to ensure the most economical packaging of products, in-plant storage and retrieval of material, and automated machine load/unload systems.
Storage/Distribution Manager
OVERVIEW: Plans, directs, and coordinates the storage and distribution operations within the company. Develops and documents standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, and salvaging products or materials. Negotiates with carriers, warehouse operators, and insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates.
Traffic Manager
OVERVIEW: Directs scheduling of internal and external shipments by notifying departments or customers of arrival dates. Determines routing and method of transportation by consulting tariff manuals and railroad/airline/trucking schedules. Directs traffic personnel and assigns duties.
