This has been a very valuable resource. It's one thing to research the law elsewhere but I will sorely miss the diverse experiences, opinions and persepectives that everyone here brings to the discussions.

It's been brought to my attention by DAW (who is having trouble with his logon) that there is already an underutilized HR forum at http://www.payrolltalk.com/board/index.php

Might be a good new home for us at least to start.

And my login there still works - though I've posted there so seldom that my posts still have to be approved by a mod.

Elle, thanks for your reply to my PM.

FB wouldn't have new folks stopping by with questions but maybe people here would have questions, laws, mental health :), etc. to discuss with one another.

Thanks for the link, I have bookmarked the site and will be checking in there. While browsing older posts, I saw some from pattypa and had a sad moment.

I am "rrupert" at Payrolltalk.com. Since I do both HR and payroll both forums have been useful. The HR forum there is underutilized , but does get some good questions when people post.   But we wouldn't be invading an already established group.  So I definitely second the suggestion of Payrolltalk.com.

I am also at Workforce and honestly, they seem to have the same "social media" (blogs/linked in/etc) perspective as those who are closing this one down. There is a lot of spam that they don't control  and a lot of randomness that would drive most of us crazy. Honestly that was my 1st place to go for a long while. Then they changed the format, we lost all our post counts so you don't know how long the responder has been there (credibiility) and it just hasn't been the same since. I wouldn't surprise me if they don't shut their boards down totally soon because of the issues.

The only difficulty at Payrolltalk appears to be that new members (evidently determined by post count because I actually registered something like two years ago, but have only posted a couple of times) have to be vetted by a moderator, and the moderators do not appear to be in evidence. I posted well over 24 hours ago and my post has not been cleared yet. I have a potential alternate solution in mind (at least temporarily) - hopefully we still have a few days to get organized. I'll post if possible - will email all I can if it's not.

I posted your situation back onto the Payrolltalk board since DAW can't post here and you can't post there....Honestly I have no idea who moderates it anymore.  There are a few pretty proficient posters (DAW being one) and I am hoping they have a link back.

Bummer - I have been on this board since 1999. I have noticed a decline in posts other than Mental Health since the move from AHI.

I have not been "hanging out" here (or on any other board) lately, and it was quite a shock to see that this one is going away. I have learned a lot, shared a little, and made many friends by being involved here since about 2001. It was a privilege to even meet three of you in person and to speak to several others by phone. As recommended by BarbieC (cbg) and Betty, I registered at http://www.thelaw.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=255

As indicated by many others, I hope that we can stay in touch. I welcome new contacts at http://www.linkedin.com/pub/morris-jennings/8/6b3/982 and I can be reached by email at Morris@FLSA-SCA.com

I hope that all of you will have a wonderful 2013.

Hey Morris, You have shared more than "a little"! I have also been on here since 2001 and I have gained so much insight from all the fine folks posting here over the years.
Thank you all!

Benny2, thank you for the thoughtful comment. I signed up on thelaw.com forum, and other useful message boards have been mentioned. Maybe we can all continue communicating elsewhere.

How disappointing!  My social media sites are linked intrinsically to my Employer and our marketing processes.  It would not be possible for me to post many of my Employment Law and Compliance questions in those types of forums.
The annonymity of this board and the posters/moderators who respond here have helped me tremendously over the past 5 years.
I am very disappointed that I will not have this board as a resource going forward.

We're all over at thelaw.com. It's not Facebook and it's not a social media site.
