Wow. Scary and sad all at the same time. This guy clearly needs help. That, or his own little island somplace where he can play king.

Apparently he thinks he's living in the Republic of Texas.

Wow there is a post selling herpes bags. Why would you want to buy a herpes bag?

LOL... Tim, I think it said hermes bag. I still don't know what they are but at least it's not quite as bad as a herpes bag.

I think it's a super ritzy maker of purses and such. Of course, the advertisment is probably from a knock off company.

Funny, Tim....when I saw that spam post subject line at first I thought it did say something about herpes!
I am a shoe & purse junkie, and I occasionally look at high end bags on Ebay and people sell USED Hermes bags on there for thousands of dollars and new ones can cost in excess of $10,000. I just can't fathom the idea of paying that kind of money for a purse, even if you can afford it. They cost darned near half as much as what my car cost!

No kidding. Hermes makes beautiful things but I can't imagine spending that kind of dough on a scarf or a handbag even if I had money to burn.
Of course then there's the "ancillary" woman on the Housewives of Beverly Hills who made sure everyone knew that her new sunglasses cost $25,000. So tacky to announce what something cost and so ridiculous to spend that kind of money on sunglasses. If you HAVE to spend huge money on something like that, buy a pair for $2,000 and donate the rest to a food bank. People are going hungry!

My take on it exactly. Why spend that much money on something just because you CAN? There are any number of places where that kind of money can be put to much better use than to buy accessories!

I can't imagine any bag that special even if I was a billionaire. But then I'll probably never know for sure. I guess we can only hope that Hermes employs lots of people and gives a lot to charity. I highly suspect the internet spammer is selling knock offs.
FYI for some of you Hermes is also well-known for scarfs.
I have a cousin who will name drop her designer sunglasses and designer bag, while driving a 10yr old car and house only 1/2 furnished. I wasn't impressed.

We're having a freaky winter here in the upper Midwest - overall, much warmer than usual. It's 50 degrees and sunny today. Not that anybody's complaining that the temperature isn't in the single didgets with a mountain of snow outside the door. It's just strange.

For the record I love Hermes ties.
When I had my retail eBay drop off store I used to sell vintage ones regularly. No purses but lots of ties.
One of the things I consider is the value of something that can be resold versus something less that is worthless once you buy it.
I bought her a Judith Leiber clutch because despite it's cost it will be a great heirloom. It is a classic black leather clutch to go with a LBD but I love it with a pair of jeans, her wedding boots, a white starch shirt tied at the waist and her vintage squash blossom necklace.

Wow. I'm impressed, Tim.
The most I can get from my DH on the topic of how I'm put together for any given event is "Looks good."

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

My DH came from a relationship with a woman who was VERY low-maintenance, wardrobe-wise so it was a huge culture shock for him when we started dating and he saw how many clothes and accessories I had. Much to my surprise (and his own, I think), he's actually started noticing and helping me shop for two of my favorite things, purses and boots, and pointing out clothes and shoes he thinks would look good on me.
He still approaches it from a very practical, guy-like perspective, though...I got a new bag yesterday and showed it to him and told him I was going to carry it when we go on vacation in a few weeks, because it will carry all the stuff I'll need but also fit nicely under an airplane seat. His first question was "but how are you going to carry it when you go shopping?" because he noticed that it has a fairly short handle so I won't be able to put it over my shoulder and have my hands free to shop! Gotta love it.

I got a "You look lovely" once. I was dressed for a wedding - I was the maid of honor.
For our OWN wedding, I got, "Pretty sporty"

"Pretty sporty"? How were you dressed for your wedding?!
I don't even think my husband even noticed how I was dressed at our wedding. He was working nights at the time, and came off shift at 8 a.m. but didn't get a chance to sleep because we had so much running around to do. He kept saying he would take a nap in the afternoon but never did. So by the 7 p.m. ceremony, he was all but comatose from not having slept at all for about 30 hours.

Huh? I've seen your wedding pictures. There was definitely nothing "sporty" about you that day. You looked absolutely elegant. (I'm supposing he meant that tongue-in-cheek.)
DH and I had a formal event last Saturday for which I'd bought a new evening gown. On the way home, he told me that I had "the second best dress there." I had to agree with him - there was a woman there with a knock-out figure wearing a stunning bright red jersey floor length dress. He and I had both commented on how drop dead goregous she looked.
His comment was actually quite a compliment!
