Beth, I have done the same thing or something similar more than once. The IT dept cringes when I walk through their door!
I'm glad that everyone in the TX area is OK.
Counting down the last hour to spring break! It's one of the few perks
of working for a school!
Have a wonderful holiday everyone!

Be the person your dog thinks you are!

Tornados went both sides of us on Tuesday but excaped any major damage.  Some employees were not so lucky however.     One of our officers had her mother in the nursing home that lost part of the roof.  Everyone was ok but she had to find a new nursing home for her.   My daughter's home and granddaughter's day care were in the track of the one that hit Arlington, but both excaped major damage.  Day care center was without power for about 48 hours.  Her church sustained significant damage. The weather service says the official count is now up to 14 confirmed tornados.  Very fortunate there was no loss of life.

Q: How do you know which way the wind is blowing in TX? A: Look up and see which way the 18-wheelers are flying.

Searching for flights from Boston, Massachusetts to London, England.

Leave Boston 10:15 am. Stopover in Chicago. Stopover in Hong Kong. Arrive London 39 hours and 40 minutes later.

It would be a lot faster, and a lot cheaper, to fly east instead of west. Like maybe 32 hours and $5000 cheaper.

Does anyone actually schedule flights like that?

Glad you and yours are good Lance. I think my friend's daughter went to daycare at the the church where your daughter goes. We will have to touch base at the SHRM meeting.

BarbieC - London is among my favorite places in the world. Have fun and send curry.

Not going for almost a year, Tim, but London is one of my favorite cities too, and it's been much, much too long since I've been there.

Barbie, On Expedia it lets you choose by length of flight and number of stops. Even if you don't book there, it will tell you the flight #'s and airlines.

Oh, I know, Elle, I was just amused when that option was presented to me.

Wow. Congrats I think.

Hey there is a silver lining. Three weeks of intense stress as opposed to a year of stress, AND no one will expect it to be perfect or extravagant.

LOL  I think I may try that on them but don't think I'd get away with it because they remember when I had a catering company and expect more.  Heck...at least they are getting married..they did it backwards..had the baby first and then the marriage...

Some people don't seem to understand that working people 60+ hours a week, especially in a physically demanding job,  is counter productive.

No kidding. My husband just changed jobs after working for a boss like that. The boss expected him to work 60 hours a week in the winter and 70+ most weeks during the summer, and then complained when everything ground to a halt because DH started having some pretty big health issues and had to miss a week of work. Then all of a sudden lack of productivity was a big deal and it was all my husband's fault.

Thanks all. It is great because it was what I really got in this to do.

I redesigned their plan last year because they had some historical issues. They were nervous about how my ideas would work but it was saving them $40K. The renewal reduction means another $100K this year.

It was much better than even I expected. I called and asked their HR person if she could have whatever she wanted what would she ask for at renewal. She said, "15% reduction." I told her I would call the carrier to let them know to keep the other 19%.

Not a bad day.
