You betcha!

Managed to get through my emails though. Feeling slightly less overwhelmed. Would feel even better if someone had a link to the text of the bill signed by Obama to extend FMLA to more military families. Can't find a link that actually works. I can only find articules on the changes not the actual wording of those changes or the effective date.

We don't have casual Fridays, we have casual pretty much all the time.  Although you can wear jeans on Friday if you did that United Way Jeans Day thing.

I'm actually overdressed most of the time here. Geek  I don't have that many in-between clothes.  It's either jeans or suits, pantsuits, dresses or nice coordinates.

But yes, ferretrick, since you are not dressed in accordance with the policy, you may go home and change.  However, if you are nonexempt, we will not PAY you to go home and change. LOL

It's easier for me to suit up most of the time as well, Patty -- I don't have the knack of keeping my casual clothes looking good enough for office wear.

What drives me crazy is we are "business casual" but people around here wear things that are far from business casual and, frankly, not even nice. Those that wear scrubs tend to be on the higher end of attire.

Yet when I mention going to jeans and collared shirts--which for some people would be an upgrade in attire--I hear that we want to have a good "professional appearance" for visitors.

Ummm, what visitors? We might have some one day every other month. And have you looked around the office lately?

Somehow the last Friday of the month became "jeans day" here. I think this is supposed to be a perk but I don't get it. I also tend to dress nicer than most of my colleagues but part of that is that I'm the much youngest manager in my department (by more than 2 decades) and I really don't need any help standing out as younger.

TGIF!!!!!! Have this other manager in the department who if you watch the Office, is a total Michael Scott. He seems to be doing his damnedest to get us sued or at least in trouble. Despite several trainings and meetings where I explain the laws to him, he does what he wants and doesn't even think of the consequences. Getting real tired of constantly bailing him out and smoothing things over so we don't look totaly incompetent. Cleaning up his 3rd mess of the day. He promises to retire within the next 3 years. I'm counting down the days.

I never felt comfortable wearing jeans to work even if it was allowed. I dress fairly casual anyway. Dress slacks, comfortable top and comfortable shoes. Now the last place I worked the ofc mgr at our sister store would wear sweat pants or daisy dukes on casual Friday.

Once it was blue jean short overalls with a tube top. That same day the controller made a negative comment about one of my employees wearing a very nice shorts outfit. I said something like "Are you kidding me? Have you seen SuzyQ today?"

I had to explain to the warehouse guy that just because his wife works for a brewery, does not make it acceptable to wear a slovenly T-shirt advertising that he loves that brand of beer.

The CCR cover was OK, but from MY era, it was Dale Hawkins who first released Suzy Q around 1957.  I think it charted pretty high.
