Biochemist
OVERVIEW: Researches or studies chemical composition and processes of living organisms that affect vital processes, such as growth and aging, to determine chemical actions and effects on organisms, such as the action of foods, drugs, or other substances on body functions and tissues.
Biological Technician
OVERVIEW: Assists biological and medical scientists in laboratories. Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment, monitors experiments, makes observations, and calculates and records results. Analyzes organic substances, such as blood, food, and drugs.
Pharmacist
OVERVIEW: Compounds and dispenses medications following prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists, or other authorized medical practitioners. Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.
Pharmacy Aide
OVERVIEW: Records drugs delivered to the pharmacy, stores incoming merchandise, and informs a supervisor of stock needs.
